Abstract

X-ray emission spectroscopy was used to investigate CuFe and CuNi alloys with minimum concentrations 0. 65 at. % Ni and 1. 4 at. % Fe. An increase in the width of the L// alpha spectrum of nickel and iron is observed with impurity concentration. This effect is interpreted on the basis of a calculation of NiCu//1//2 and Ni//2Cu//1//8 clusters as the result of impurity interaction.
