Waveguide-plasmon polaritons in a 1D metallic photonic crystal slab

Abstract

We study experimentally and theoretically the interaction of waveguide modes with nanowire plasmon resonances in a grating-waveguide structure. The coupling leads to the formation of a waveguide-plasmon polariton with a Rabi splitting of 250 meV.
