The increasing needs of high quality products, leads industrial to improve the tolerancing of their products. Indeed, it is necessary to calculate, the more precisely possible, every tolerance to achieve functional need and to take in account effects of the manufacturing and the result of the final assembly. The algebraic method that we are proposing can help the tolerance analysis and synthesis, and tolerance transfer. It is a continuation of works developed by professor Clément Fortin and Louis Rivest. Our method permits to determine algebraically if a tolerance can be transferred, and what will be its form after transfer. This result is obtained from a second degree equation. The study of this equation permits to determine whether the transfer is possible or not.
