The results are presented of the experimental investigation of thermal fields in metal-polymer powder compositions on the basis of aluminum, nickel, and brass in a mixture with polycarbonate or polyamide. The coefficients of thermal conductivity in such powder media are determined from the solution of an inverse heat problem. The experimental data may be used to optimize the modes of layer-by-layer laser sintering of bulk products. The thermal aspects of the process of selective laser sintering are discussed.
