Theoretical spectroscopy and dynamics of fragmentation of the He 79Br2 complex

Abstract

Fragmentation dynamics of the HeBr2(B, ν) complex is studied by mens of three-dimensional quantum calculations for a broad range of vibrational excitations (ν). Using additive pairwise potentials for both electronic states involved, X and B, resonance line shapes, lifetimes, average structures, spectral shifts and final product distributions are presented for an assumed main transition (X,J = 1, j = odd, parity = -) → (B,J = O,j = even, parity = +). For ν = 44, a partial closing of the Δ ν = -1 channel of the fragmentation is found, in good agreement with the experiment.
