TEM verification of optical diameter distribution analysis for nitrogen-doped SWCNT films

Abstract

The diameter distributions of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) doped with nitrogen were determined by analysis of their optical absorption spectra and by transmission electron microscopy. The excellent agreement obtained using these independent methods validates the use of the optical method for determining the diameter distributions for nitrogen-doped SWCNT films. Furthermore, this implies that the optical transitions of N-doped SWCNTs do not differ significantly from the undoped tubes.
