Synthesis of nanocrystalline TiO2 powders from aqueous TiOSO4 solutions under hydrothermal conditions

Abstract

The synthesis of nanocrystalline titanium dioxide powders from aqueous TiOSO4 solutions under hydrothermal conditions was discussed. It was found that the crystal size of these powders increases with the increasing temperature and duration of the hydrothermal processes. The increase of the particle size is accompanied by merging of nanocrystals which is followed by the formation of porous titania particles.
