Stabilization of pulse propagation by an optical supporting structure

Abstract

A new method of pulse propagation control is proposed. A regular sinusoidal train - supporting structure - in the normal dispersion regime guides via cross phase modulation random signal pulses in anomalous dispersion region. The existence of stable states for guided signal pulses and robustness against Gordon-Haus jitter are numerically demonstrated.
