Spectral element modeling of seismic wave propagation on non-conforming meshes

    Abstract

    We consider the construction of a fast and accurate Spectral Element method on non-conformal meshes for solving frorward seismic problems. Such meshes help to avoid the main limitation of the method, the usage of hexahedral and quadrangular grids, simplify the mesh construction and speed up the computations.We present the results of calculations on ono-conforming grids for Gas Hydrate geological model.
