Selective laser sintering in Cu-Al-Ni system and some of their properties

Abstract

Conditions of intermetallic phase synthesis during selective laser sintering/melting in Cu-Al-Ni powdered system were studied. Optical and scanning electron microscopy, EDX and XRD analysis were used for microstructure testing and intermetallide identification in porous 3D samples depending on the laser syntheses regimes. High laser sinterability of the prepared mixtures and shape memory effect in the 3D samples by results of specific electrical resistance measurements were shown. Porosity of the laser synthesized Al7Cu4Ni intermetallide leads to a peak shifting by the temperature axis and the interval of the As-Af austenite transformation was 50 ÷ 80 0C, and the interval of Ms-Mf martensite transformation was +25 ÷-40 0C.
