Abstract

A model is formulated for steady-state combustion of spherical particles of unitary propellant in an inert gas flow. Exact solutions of the problem are obtained, from which it follows that the linear combustion rate for large particles is approximately equal to the rate of normal combustion of unitary propellant, while the combustion rate for small particles is close to their vaporization rate.
