Numerical simulation of the melting and solidification of methane during its adsorption in slitlike pores of carbons

Abstract

Melting and solidification of methane in slitlike pores (15-38 Å) of carbons were simulated by the Monte Carlo method in the framework of the grand canonical ensemble. The microscopic structure of the adsorbent surface was found to substantially influence the pore-width dependence of the solidification point.
