New mechanism of the optical nonlinearity of metal colloidal aggregates

Abstract

The mechanisms responsible for cubic nonlinear optical response of the silver nanoaggregates in colloidal solution were studied. It was shown that the light-induced movement of the metal nanoparticles could produce the optical metal nonlinearity of the aggregate.
