Modeling a disc pump stage for heavy oil

Abstract

A model of a disc pump stage with simple design is developed. An approximate analytical solution for a flow in the disc rotor is derived. The performance of the vaneless diffuser is evaluated. The characteristics of a disc stage in dependence on the fluid viscosity, the flow rate, and a channel number are analyzed. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 8th World Congress of Chemical Engineering (Montreal, Quebec, Canada 8/23-27/2009).
