An experimental study was made of the transformation of the lengths and heights of regular gravity-capillary waves on coflowing or counterflowing fluid flows which are smoothly inhomogeneous in the horizontal direction. The experiments were carried out in a laboratory tank with waves ranging from 1. 5 to 3 Hz at flow rates up to 30 cm/sec. Stoppage and reflection of waves are observed in the wave blocking region. The results obtained are in agreement with the concepts of linear wave theory.
