Abstract

A new terahertz (THz) photomixer based on semi-insulating GaAs (SI-GaAs) with silver nanowire (Ag-NW) is for the first time demonstrated for continuous wave (CW) THz radiation. The use of the Ag-NW greatly enhanced the THz output power ('' two order of magnitude) and compensated the large carrier lifetime of the SI-GaAs photoconductor.
