Essence of "proximity" model for interference phenomena in mesoscopic normal metal-superconducting structures

Abstract

In this work we studied the transport properties of mesoscopic silver wires with three types of superconducting loops at the stubs. The geometry of the structures was chosen to verify the models proposed to explain interference phenomena in such systems. In two types of structures we observed magnetoresistance oscillations of the silver wire, which are consistent with the predictions of quasi-classical "proximity" theory. The oscillations resulted from the periodic suppression of the induced condensate by the Meissner current.
