Enhanced nonlinear-optical response of composites based on plasmonic nanoparticles

We demonstrate experimentally that introduction of plasmonic nanoparticles in various dielectric materials (porous silicon, quartz, graphene-based films) leads to a strong and spectrally selective enhancement of local optical fields, which is proven by an increase of a number of nonlinear optical effects: optical second-harmonic generation, nonlinear absorption and refraction and Raman scattering.
