Electron microscopy study of KxBa1-xNbO3

Ba1-xKxNbO3 (x = O and x = 0.4) samples have been studied by electron microscopy. Diffraction patterns as well as high resolution images of the x = O sample showed the presence of small misoriented domains. From energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis the (Ba + K)/Nb ratio was found to be equal to 1. Neither superstructure reflections nor distortion from the cubic symmetry was detected.
