Determination of the phosphorylation status of the stem loop binding protein from drosophila melanogaster

Abstract

The in vivo phosphorylaion sites of the Drosophila stem-loop binding protein (dSLBP) was discussed. It was shown that all the truncations except RBD had 3 sites, which were phosphorylated completely, as well as a fourth site that was predominantly phosphorylated. A tryptic digest of the full length protein was analyzed using a combination of IMAC and MALDI-MS/MS. Two phosphorylated peptides were found using this method, mapping to amino acids Thr 230 and Thr 120 3.
