    Abstract

    Abstract: The destruction of thin films of stainless steel with repeated exposure to ultrashort pulses of directional terahertz radiation has been studied. A terahertz pulse with a duration of picoseconds essentially models a nonresonant impact on an object of a quasi-permanent electric field with high intensity (up to 20 MV/cm).
