Abstract

A study is conducted to report a novel vanadium-based cathode material AVPO4F (A = Li, K) adopting a KTP-type framework for high power rechargeable batteries with enhanced specific energy and excellent rate capability. KVPO4F was synthesized via freeze-drying assisted solid-state route in two steps. First, vanadium phosphate VPO4 was obtained, and for this, NH4VO3 and NH4H2PO4 were dissolved in distilled H2O under stirring at 70 °C with a dropwise addition of an ascorbic acid solution as a carbon source and reducing agent.
