Application of five-dimensional field theory for determination of exact solutions of the standard Einstein-Maxwell equations

Abstract

Five-dimensional unified theory is utilized to obtain conventional electrovacuum solutions with the aid of transformation of five coordinates. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived to obtain a solution with electromagnetic field from the four-dimensional vacuum metric. All permissible vacuum metrics and the electrovacuum solutions which they produce are presented.
